Abstract
|
|
|
In order to determine the underlying mechanism by which (SIN MUNH_7) acupuncture decreases blood pressure, changes in blood pressure and heart rate by ¥á-and ¥â-agonist were observed 30 min before and after 5IN MUN (H_7) acupuncture in intact and vagotomized cats.
Results obtained as follows:
1. SIN MUN(H_7)-acupuncture decreased systolic and diastolic pressure, and it also decreased the heart rate with a similar parttern.
2. SIN MUN(H_7)-acupuncture attenuated decrease in blood pressure and increase in heart rate by ¥â-agonist, isoproterenol(5 §¶).
3. SIN MUN(H_7)-acupuncture attenuated increase in pressure and decrease in heart rate by ¥á-agonist, phynylephrine(30§¶).
4. Effect of SIN MUN(H_7) acupuncture on changes in blood pressure and heart rate by isoproterenol or phenylephrine reduced in the vagotomized cat.
These results suggest that the effect of SIN MUN(H_7) acupuncture on blood pressure and heart rate is in part mediated through the vagus nerve.
